Wall Cabinets and
Hutches
Else is the cabinet maker in the
family. She has two standard small
cabinets that she has made for years.
One is the corner cabinet and the
other is the flat wall cabinet.
Recently she has been making a
larger model of the hanging corner
cabinet. These are high quality hand
made items. This is the type of
furniture that is passed from one
generation to the next.
Over the years she has designed and
built a wonderful variety of larger
cabinets or hutches known as 'Fram
Skaps'. Nearly every one is different.
There can be doors on both top and
bottom or doors in the bottom and an
open top with shelves. You can have
shelves behind the doors or drawers
behind the doors. Decorative
carvings on the cabinet can be ornate
or more limited.
After listening to your thoughts
regarding the cabinet you would like,
Else will make a drawing with the
measurements in proper scale for
your consideration.
These two wall cabinets are the same size, and
much the same design. The top cabinet is made from basswood and the design in
the door panel feature a young girl leading a fjord foal.
The cabinet below is made from butternut
wood, and the client who ordered this one wanted their initial incorporated
into the acanthus design.
Above and below, two corner hutches designed
to fit a certain place.
Hutches can be open or have doors on the upper
part.
This cabinet is a reproduction of a clients
family heirloom. They had one cabinet and two brothers wanted the same
one.
